Summary
Wedwise helps you plan a wedding: ceremonies, guest lists, RSVPs, budget and photos. We collect only what the app needs to do that. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Signing in
You sign in with your Google account or with Apple. Either way, Wedwise receives your name and email address and stores them to create your account. We never see or store your password, and Wedwise has no access to your Gmail, Drive, iCloud or any other service.
If you use Sign in with Apple and choose Hide My Email, Apple gives us a relay address instead of your own. We store that address and use it the same way; we never learn the address behind it.
We do not collect your phone number to sign you in. If you choose to add a number so people can reach you on WhatsApp, that is optional and you can leave it blank.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | From Google. It identifies your account and is how you are invited to a wedding. |
| Your name | From Google. Shown to the people you plan the wedding with. |
| Wedding content | Ceremonies, dates, venues, to-dos, expenses and notes you enter. |
| Guest details | Names, phone numbers and RSVP replies for the guests you add. This is content you enter about other people, not data we collect about you. |
| Contacts you select | If you add a guest from your address book, we upload only the contacts you tap. We never read or upload your full address book. |
| Photos you choose | Only the images you pick to attach to your wedding. We do not scan your photo library. |
| Phone number | Optional, and only if you add one yourself for WhatsApp contact. |
We do not collect location, advertising identifiers, browsing history, or contact-book data you did not explicitly select.
Who can see your data
People you invite to your wedding see the wedding's content — ceremonies, guests, to-dos and budget — according to the role you give them. Organisers see the budget; co-organisers do not. Guests who open their invitation link see only that wedding's ceremony details and their own reply. Nothing is public unless you share a link.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to run the app, and nothing more:
- Google — sign-in. Google tells us your name and email when you approve it.
- Apple — sign-in. Apple tells us your name and email, or a relay address if you hide it.
- MongoDB Atlas — database hosting.
- Render — application server.
- Vercel — web hosting, including this page and guest invitation links.
- Cloudinary — storage for the photos you upload.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers or analytics networks. We may disclose data if legally required to.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account we remove it.
Deleting your account
In the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, your weddings, your guest lists and your uploaded photos. It cannot be undone. You can also email Wedwise support from the Google address on the account and we will delete it for you.
Deleting your Wedwise account does not affect your Google or Apple account. You can also revoke Wedwise's access at any time in your Google account's security settings, or under Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data from inside the app at any time. To request a copy of your data, email us.
Children
Wedwise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are verified with Google or Apple on every sign-in. Access to the database is restricted and credentials are held as environment secrets, never in the app.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced in the app.
